Start with a useful action
Define what someone should learn, practise or complete. A high score is only useful if it reflects the intended behaviour.
Give people a reason to take part—and a useful next step.
Custom gamification for workplace learning, employee onboarding, customer engagement and branded seasonal campaigns. Strategy, interaction design and development from Beta Check Hub.WHO THIS IS FOR
Learning and development teams, HR leads, marketing teams and product owners who want people to practise, explore or complete a useful action.
TRY THE DEMONSTRATIONS
Try Cyber Safety Quest and switch between Halloween and Christmas bonus mechanics. These are illustrative prototypes, not commissioned client projects or live promotions.

We connect the learning or commercial objective to the rules, interface and software. Design, code and optional audio sit in the same team, so the reward is not a decorative layer added after the experience has been built. We prototype the important decision first and agree what evidence would justify a larger rollout.
Define what someone should learn, practise or complete. A high score is only useful if it reflects the intended behaviour.
Develop the tone, visual theme, interaction and optional sound around your audience—not a generic game with a logo attached.
Plan clear reward rules, keyboard access, readable feedback and alternatives to timed challenges. Avoid making public leaderboards or streak pressure the default.
THE TECHNOLOGY NOW
Gamification uses selected game mechanics—choices, feedback, progress and rewards—inside an experience with a practical purpose. It need not be a large 3D game. A short browser-based scenario can let staff practise a decision, while a branded discovery trail can introduce customers to a product.
Branching scenarios, quizzes and immediate explanations can make an onboarding or product-knowledge topic something people practise rather than simply read. Subject experts approve the content.
Halloween clue trails, Christmas reveals and product-launch missions can combine a visual theme with clear actions and rewards. Our public demos simulate bonuses; they do not issue real offers.
Authoring tools such as H5P offer reusable interactive content. Where the platform supports it, integrations can connect an experience to an LMS; compatibility and reporting need to be scoped and tested.
Agree the events worth recording: choices, completion, retries or redemption. xAPI is one possible standard for exchanging learning-activity records; it is not automatically included in a build.
WHERE IT IS GOING
Our direction is more relevant practice, not more notifications. Start with a short pilot and an agreed baseline. Then use the evidence to refine the content, difficulty and next steps. Personalisation can be rule-based; AI is optional and would need separate evaluation and content safeguards.
We plan for likely change without making your project depend on a prediction.Role-specific learning paths based on demonstrated needs, not just time spent.
Reusable content and theme systems so a campaign can change without rebuilding its core.
Useful reporting with agreed access and retention, rather than unnecessary employee surveillance.
Accessible alternatives and device testing built into the prototype stage.
CUSTOM VS OFF-THE-SHELF
An existing quiz or learning tool can be the best choice for standard training. Bespoke development becomes useful when the story, game rules, brand, reward journey or system integration cannot be expressed well in a template.
Reusable question types and content templates can make routine modules quicker to author.
Decisions and feedback can follow your specific roles, scenarios and approved working procedures.
A shared mechanic with configurable colours and branding.
A distinct visual theme, interaction and reward journey designed around the campaign.
The platform's supported reports and integrations.
Scoped connections to your portal, LMS, CRM or reward system, with access and failure handling designed explicitly.
We will say when an existing product is the sensible answer. Custom work should earn its place through fit, control, integration or long-term value.
HOW WE HELP
You can engage us for one focused capability or a joined-up delivery. We shape the work around the outcome, handover and level of support you need.
Audience, intended behaviour, content outline, success measures and a playable proof before full production.
Scenario writing with your subject experts, decision logic, explanatory feedback, progress and agreed completion rules.
Visual themes, campaign mechanics, optional sound and a clearly specified bonus or reward flow.
Agreed platform connections, event definitions, browser and accessibility checks, operational guidance and support options.
HOW WE WORK
Agree the audience, business purpose, content owner, reward rules and privacy boundaries.
Try the core interaction with representative people and check understanding, friction and accessibility.
Develop the approved content, theme, rules and integrations with review points.
Check the agreed evidence against a baseline, then decide whether to refine, expand or stop.
PRACTICAL QUESTIONS
Not necessarily. The right solution may be a short decision exercise, an onboarding journey or a themed campaign. We start with the outcome and choose the smallest useful mechanic.
We review its APIs, supported content formats, authentication and reporting before proposing integration. A standalone browser prototype is often a useful first step; LMS certification or universal compatibility is not implied.
No. Cyber Safety Quest and the seasonal bonus demos are illustrative prototypes created to show the mechanics. Scores stay in the current page session and reset on reload. No real rewards, training certificates or employee records are created.
Yes. We can scope a branded visual theme, content, challenges and reward journey for a seasonal campaign. Real offers require approved eligibility, availability and redemption rules before launch.
It depends on the audience, content and design. We agree a baseline and run a small pilot rather than guarantee higher engagement, sales or learning outcomes.
A CLEAR NEXT STEP
Bring the current workflow, product or technical problem. We will help define the sensible route, what should stay off-the-shelf, where custom work earns its place and how to prove value before scaling.
