WHO THIS IS FOR

Which systems, risks and responsibilities are unclear?

IT directors and business owners making architecture decisions, connecting systems or reducing repetitive administration.

WHY WE ARE DIFFERENT

Advice that can survive contact with the real operation.

We can examine the technical problem and help implement the chosen route. Advice is grounded in the business workflow, data ownership and practical constraints, with uncertainty and trade-offs made explicit.

01

Keep what works

Review the existing systems before proposing replacement. A narrow integration may be more valuable than a new platform.

02

Plan for failure

Retries, duplicate events, unavailable services and manual recovery are part of the design.

03

Make ownership explicit

Agree who owns accounts, data mappings, credentials, monitoring and future changes.

THE TECHNOLOGY NOW

APIs connect software; ownership and failure handling make it dependable.

APIs and workflow platforms can connect many common business tools. Reliable integration still requires permissions, consistent data, validation and handling for partial failures. An AI model can assist a bounded step; it is not a substitute for those controls.

01

API development

Document interfaces, authentication requirements, validation and error behaviour.

02

Workflow automation

Connect triggers, checks and actions in tools such as n8n, with custom code where it serves the requirement.

03

Technical audits

Review architecture, dependencies and delivery risks against a defined scope. A general review is not a penetration-test certification.

04

AI and local LLM feasibility

Compare deployment routes, data handling, quality and operating costs using representative examples.

WHERE IT IS GOING

Looser coupling will make systems easier to replace and improve.

Platforms and models will change. A maintainable integration isolates vendor-specific behaviour, keeps a record of important events and provides a clear way to recover when an upstream dependency changes.

We plan for likely change without making your project depend on a prediction.
  1. 01

Documented interfaces instead of hidden manual dependencies.

  2. 02

Permission-aware AI use with measured evaluation and human review.

  3. 03

Observable workflows with named owners and recovery procedures.

  4. 04

Phased modernisation based on risk and business value.

CUSTOM VS OFF-THE-SHELF

Keep what works, integrate where sensible and replace only with evidence.

Use native connectors for supported, standard integrations. Custom APIs and logic become useful when the data, permissions or failure behaviour cannot be expressed safely with a generic recipe.

Connections

Packaged connectors can reduce initial engineering.

Purpose-built mappings and interfaces handle specialist requirements.

Automation

A recipe may cover the expected happy path.

Exception handling, ownership and recovery are designed around the operation.

Advice

Vendor guidance focuses on that platform’s capabilities.

A review can compare keeping, integrating or replacing the existing tools.

We will say when an existing product is the sensible answer. Custom work should earn its place through fit, control, integration or long-term value.

HOW WE HELP

Turn uncertainty into an architecture and a practical next move.

You can engage us for one focused capability or a joined-up delivery. We shape the work around the outcome, handover and level of support you need.

01

Technical discovery report

Current-state review, priorities, constraints and solution options.

02

API and integration design

Data mapping, access boundaries, interface contracts and failure handling.

03

Workflow implementation

Configured automation, custom logic, review steps and operational alerts within agreed scope.

04

Operational handover

Runbooks, responsibility mapping, testing evidence and maintenance recommendations.

HOW WE WORK

Map the dependencies before changing the machinery.

01

Map

Identify systems, data owners and repeated work.

02

Assess

Compare options and document risks and assumptions.

03

Prove

Test a bounded integration with representative inputs and failures.

04

Operate

Agree monitoring, access management and change responsibilities.

PRACTICAL QUESTIONS

Questions before we begin.

Do we need AI to automate work?

Often not. Rules, APIs and workflow tools may be enough. We use a model only where its capability justifies the additional uncertainty and operating cost.

Does local AI make data automatically safe?

No. Local hosting changes the data path, but access, logging, connectors, backups, model behaviour and operating practices still need assessment.

Can you audit without rebuilding?

Yes. A discovery or technical review can produce findings and recommendations without committing you to development.

A CLEAR NEXT STEP

Discuss a technical challenge.

Bring the current workflow, product or technical problem. We will help define the sensible route, what should stay off-the-shelf, where custom work earns its place and how to prove value before scaling.
